llms.txt Generator
Writing llms.txt by hand means transcribing URLs and inventing structure. Paste your sitemap and this drafts the file, groups pages by path, and leaves you a description to fill for each one — which is the part that actually matters.

Your file
Fill in the description after each link before you publish. An assistant chooses which page to read from that sentence, so a file of bare URLs gives it nothing to choose with.
How to use it
The descriptions are the whole point
A generated file with TODO on every line is not finished. The sentence after each link is what an assistant reads to decide which page to open, and it is the only part a machine cannot write for you.
Curate, do not dump
If your sitemap has four hundred URLs, llms.txt should not. List the pages you actively want quoted: docs, pricing, policies, specifications. Leave out the rest.
Group by what a reader wants, not by your URL structure
Path segments are a starting point, not the answer. Rename the sections to match the questions people arrive with.
Validate before you publish
Run the result through the llms.txt Validator. The two most common failures are a missing blockquote summary and relative URLs, and both are silent.

Every one you keep. A link with no description is worse than no link, because it occupies a slot without helping anything choose.
No. A sitemap lists everything for crawlers. llms.txt is a short, curated list of the pages you want quoted.
